Chief Information Officer (CIO) Job Opportunity

Our client, a leading manufacturing company in Nigeria, is seeking an experienced **Chief Information Officer (CIO)** to provide strategic leadership for its Information Technology function. This executive role is responsible for driving enterprise-wide digital transformation, strengthening cybersecurity, modernising IT infrastructure, and ensuring technology supports long-term business growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a visionary IT leader with extensive experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or other large-scale organisations.

Key Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Digital Transformation

* Develop and execute the organisation’s enterprise IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
* Lead digital transformation initiatives that improve operational efficiency and business performance.
* Identify emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that create competitive advantage.
* Establish robust IT governance, policies, and best practices.

Enterprise Infrastructure & Business Systems

* Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise IT infrastructure.
* Ensure maximum availability, reliability, and security of business systems.
* Lead the implementation, optimisation, and maintenance of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms.
* Drive business continuity planning and disaster recovery readiness.

Cybersecurity & Information Security

* Develop and implement enterprise cybersecurity strategies.
* Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of corporate information assets.
* Oversee network security, firewall administration, endpoint protection, and information security compliance.
* Strengthen organisational resilience against cyber threats and technology risks.

Vendor & Technology Management

* Manage strategic relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
* Negotiate technology contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Monitor vendor performance and ensure value delivery.

Leadership & Team Development

* Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team.
* Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with executive leadership to drive technology-enabled business initiatives.

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
* A postgraduate qualification in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.

Professional Certifications (Preferred)

* CCIE
* CCNP
* MCSE
* RHCA
* CISSP
* Other recognised enterprise technology certifications

Experience

* Minimum of 12 years progressive experience in Information Technology.
* At least 4 years in a senior management or executive leadership role.
* Proven experience leading the IT function of a medium-to-large organisation.
* Strong expertise in enterprise infrastructure, ERP implementation, cybersecurity, IT governance, and digital transformation.
* Experience within the **manufacturing or FMCG sector** is highly desirable.
